GrowMax Aquatic Feed Company Limited and Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper established the GrowMax Scholarship Fund worth 8 billion VND for poor students in coastal provinces.

On August 8 in Dong Nai, GrowMax Aquatic Feed Company Limited coordinated with Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper to organize the announcement ceremony of the establishment of the GrowMax Scholarship Fund. This is a scholarship fund for poor but studious students in coastal localities of Vietnam.

Attending the announcement ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Dinh Luan, Director General of the Directorate of Fisheries (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development).

At the ceremony, Mr. Mai Van Hoang, CEO of GrowMax, emotionally confided: “Knowledge is the brightest path to change the life of each person, especially children in difficult circumstances. However, not everyone is lucky enough to do this, because many children are still having to put that dream aside.

Born in a poor coastal countryside, I understand the difficulties of many families living here. After more than 22 years working in the aquaculture sector, every day in contact with many shrimp farmers across the country, I deeply understand their difficulties and hardships… Somewhere there are many unfortunate lives, many families in extremely difficult circumstances, many students who cannot go to school, or go to school in difficult circumstances because they do not have money to pay tuition, buy books, school supplies, live far from school but have to walk many kilometers to school because they do not even have an old bicycle”.

Especially in 2022, people in coastal areas are still facing many difficulties, many fishing boats of fishermen have to stay ashore and do not dare to go to sea because of the high cost of fuel. The aquaculture situation still has many risks of disease, causing many coastal households to suffer losses in production.

In addition, due to the high prices of many types of input materials for aquaculture production, it has caused more difficulties for people raising aquatic products in coastal areas. Many farmers have to continuously suffer losses and have to abandon their ponds. This makes many households that are already in difficulty even more difficult, students in this area may have to bear more hardships with their families, many of them may even be at risk of having to drop out of school.

Mr. Hoang shared: As a businessman in the seafood industry, with an endless passion for shrimp, he not only struggles with his career, but also always worries about how to help many children in difficult circumstances, especially children in coastal areas, to go to school and not have to leave their studies unfinished.

Mr. Mai Van Hoang, General Director of GrowMax Company, shared his enthusiasm about the GrowMax Scholarship Fund.

Therefore, Mr. Hoang personally had the idea and discussed with the Board of Directors of GrowMax Aquatic Feed Company Limited and all officers and employees of the Company to agree to reduce a part of their salary/bonus in 2022 to share with children in especially difficult circumstances, especially in coastal areas, creating conditions for them to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies…

“Studying will be an opportunity for children to escape poverty, become good citizens, useful to their families, society and the Fatherland. With that noble meaning, although it has only been established for nearly 2 years and the Company itself is still facing countless difficulties, GrowMax still decided to allocate 8 billion VND in advance to establish the GrowMax Scholarship Fund to send to students in coastal provinces/cities, supporting them to continue their journey of seeking knowledge. This is also GrowMax’s inspiration with the desire to always be a bridge for the future of many future generations “This,” said Mr. Mai Van Hoang.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, presented souvenir flowers to Mr. Mai Van Hoang, General Director of GrowMax Aquatic Feed Company Limited.

At the launching ceremony of the GrowMax Scholarship Fund, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, expressed his appreciation for the sentiments of the Board of Directors and all officers and employees of GrowMax Aquatic Feed Company Limited who have always accompanied and cared for poor and studious students in coastal areas. Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh also hoped that the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper would deliver these gifts to the right hands of poor and studious children to further their dreams of going to school and becoming useful citizens for society.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper, affirmed that the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper will closely coordinate with GrowMax Aquatic Feed Company Limited to organize the best, most timely and most effective implementation of the scholarship activities of the Growmax Scholarship Fund in order to join hands to share the difficulties for poor and studious students to have better conditions to go to school.
