Joy of Learning with GrowMax Scholarships

On September 6, the GrowMax Scholarship Fund, together with benefactors, awarded 26 scholarships to students at Thanh Hai Primary School (Vinh Long), sharing hardships and encouraging their spirit of learning.

Thanh Hai Commune, Vinh Long Province, was formed from the merger of Thanh Hai and An Dien communes (formerly in Thanh Phu District, Ben Tre Province). It is one of 45 disadvantaged coastal and island communes nationwide. Local residents mainly earn their living through aquaculture, fishing, seasonal labor, or small-scale trading. In this difficult economic context, ensuring children can stay in school is a constant concern for many families.

Accompanying the children, the GrowMax Scholarship Fund (established by GrowMax Group in cooperation with the Vietnam Agriculture & Environment Newspaper) awarded 10 scholarships (1 million VND each) to students in particularly difficult circumstances. In addition, Le Van Huu, a loyal customer of GrowMax, sponsored another 16 scholarships (500,000 VND each) for students not yet supported.

Nguyen Khac Huan, GrowMax Representative, said: “GrowMax not only focuses on producing shrimp feed, seed, and probiotics but is also committed to contributing positively to the community. The GrowMax Scholarship Fund was established in 2022 to encourage disadvantaged coastal students to stay in school.”

According to Mr. Huan, the fund is formed from part of the company’s profits, employee bonuses, and customer contributions. “That is the driving force that enables the fund to sustain itself and spread love to more disadvantaged students,” he shared.

Though modest in value, the scholarships provide meaningful encouragement, helping poor students gain confidence, nurture dreams, and strive forward. For example, Ngo Quoc B., who is undergoing leukemia treatment, and Phan Thi Nhu Q., who recently lost her father while her mother battles stage 2 breast cancer.

Luu Thi Nhu Y, mother of Nguyen Hoang Khai (Grade 3, Thanh Hai Primary School), emotionally said: “Our family has no land; my husband earns 300,000 VND a day as a laborer to feed six people. Thanks to this scholarship, my child can continue going to school. I sincerely thank the benefactors.”

Phan Van Khue, representative of the Culture–Society Division of Thanh Hai Commune People’s Committee, expressed gratitude: “For many poor households, this amount of money is a significant support. These scholarships are practical gifts that encourage children to strive harder in their studies and aim for a brighter future.”

Since 2022, the GrowMax Scholarship Fund has organized numerous scholarship programs in coastal areas, spreading the spirit of solidarity while affirming the social responsibility of Vietnamese enterprises in caring for the younger generation.
