The Covid 19 epidemic has been extremely complicated in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular over the past time, causing great damage to the country’s economy, in which shrimp farmers are one of the subjects that have suffered heavy consequences.

In the first 6 months of 2021, the price of raw materials for shrimp feed production has continuously increased, combined with the extremely limited transportation of goods from abroad during this sensitive period, causing many difficulties for aquatic feed production enterprises.

To limit losses, businesses have no choice but to increase selling prices. Just from the beginning of the year to this July, many shrimp feed production enterprises have adjusted prices up 3 times, even 4 times, with a total price increase of 3,300 VND to 3,800 VND/kg. Rising prices have caused shrimp farmers to face numerous difficulties.

Raising shrimp is already difficult due to the many times increase in costs, and the selling price of shrimp meat during the epidemic has dropped sharply. This situation makes shrimp farmers even more difficult.

Faced with such huge difficulties, many shrimp farmers have considered abandoning their ponds because the risk of loss is looming. Fortunately, in the most difficult times, there have been businesses that have accepted to sacrifice their profits to share with customers and shrimp farmers by making a commitment not to increase selling prices and maintain quality despite having to endure the continuous increase in input materials.
