In Ben Tre
Like the previous times, the scholarship recipients this morning from the GrowMax Scholarship Fund all made us feel sad.
Truong Thi Kim Ngan, a 2A student at Thuan Dien Primary School (Thuan Dien Commune, Giong Trom District, Ben Tre Province) was perhaps the most special case at the bicycle handover ceremony on the morning of September 16.
Ngan is from a poor family, with 3 out of 4 members being considered by the local authorities to receive monthly social assistance. Ngan herself is mentally disabled, so for many years she has not completed her school program. She is now 13 years old but has just started 2nd grade this year.
Ngan’s father works for hire, with an unstable income, so he does not have money to buy her a bike to go to school. Every day, her mother has to take her and Ngan to school twice. Receiving the gift from the program, Ngan and her mother could not hide their joy.
Truong Thi Kim Ngan, a 2A student at Thuan Dien Primary School, is a very special case of the bicycle donation program in the Mekong Delta on the morning of September 16.
