On September 5, more than 1,000 schools across Tay Ninh Province held opening ceremonies, marking a promising beginning for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Ensuring Facilities and Teaching Quality
Currently, Tay Ninh has 1,022 schools at all levels. To prepare for the new school year, the provincial education sector conducted a comprehensive review of the entire school system, from preschools to high schools, across 96 communes and wards. Repairs and upgrades were carried out on deteriorated facilities, and new classrooms were built to reduce class sizes, particularly in border, remote, and rural areas.

The education department also equipped schools with the minimum teaching devices specified by the Ministry of Education and Training, while prioritizing investments in specialized classrooms, laboratory equipment, practice facilities, and IT applications to meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program. Equipment was reviewed, supplemented, and made ready for use from the very first day of the new academic year.
At the same time, the province proactively implemented measures to ensure sufficient teaching staff. Teachers were reassigned appropriately by subject and location, with special attention to addressing local shortages and adding staff for new subjects.

“The province is currently short of 2,673 teachers, most at the lower secondary level (1,092 teachers, accounting for 41% of the total shortage). Recently, 853 teachers were recruited, meeting only about 32% of the need. To address this, the department will continue reviewing and submitting recruitment plans for approval, while coordinating with local People’s Committees to support hiring,” a representative of Tay Ninh’s Department of Education and Training stated.
Supporting Students of Transferred Families
After administrative restructuring, Tay Ninh now has over 566,000 students. In addition to upgrading facilities, the province has paid close attention to arranging stable study environments for children of staff reassigned to Tan An and Long An following the merger.

Transparent communication ensures peace of mind as teachers and employees adapt to the new administrative unit. For students, we are committed to ensuring that no child is left behind. Special cases are promptly reported for support, ensuring every child of school age has the opportunity to attend school.”

She emphasized that despite changes caused by administrative restructuring, Tan An Primary School had carefully prepared facilities, staffing, and support policies. “This year, we projected 280 students, but due to the changes, an additional 80 enrolled. With provincial support, we sought approval to open one more class and quickly assigned teachers to meet the demand,” she added.
