GrowMax Aquafeed Company and Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper Establish the 8 Billion VND GrowMax Scholarship Fund for Poor Students in Coastal Provinces
On August 8th in Dong Nai, GrowMax Aquafeed Co., Ltd. collaborated with Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper to organize the Announcement Ceremony for the establishment of the GrowMax Scholarship Fund. This is a scholarship fund dedicated to poor, studious students in Vietnam’s coastal localities.
Attending the Announcement Ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee; and Mr. Tran Dinh Luan, Director of the Directorate of Fisheries (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development – MARD).
At the ceremony, Mr. Mai Van Hoang, CEO of GrowMax, emotionally shared: “Knowledge is the brightest path to change a person’s life, especially for children in difficult circumstances. However, not everyone is fortunate enough to achieve this, as many children still have to postpone that dream.”
“Being born in a poor coastal area, I deeply understand the hardships of many families living here. Having worked in the fisheries sector for over 22 years, interacting daily with many shrimp farmers across the country, I am acutely aware of their difficulties and struggles… There are still many unfortunate lives, many extremely difficult households, and many students who cannot go to school, or who attend school under strained circumstances—unable to pay tuition, buy books and school supplies, or who live far from school and have to walk many kilometers because they cannot even afford a used bicycle.”
Particularly in 2022, people in coastal areas are facing numerous difficulties. Many fishing vessels of fishermen are docked, afraid to go to sea due to excessively high fuel costs. The aquaculture situation still carries many disease risks, causing many coastal households to suffer production losses.
Furthermore, the prices of many input materials for aquaculture production have increased sharply, adding to the difficulties for aquaculture farmers in coastal areas. Many farmers have continuously suffered losses and have had to abandon their ponds. This has made life even harder for many already struggling households. Students in these regions may face additional burdens with their families, and many are even at risk of dropping out of school.
Mr. Hoang shared: As an entrepreneur in the fisheries sector with an endless passion for shrimp, he is not only concerned about the industry but also constantly preoccupied with how to help more children in difficult circumstances, especially those in coastal areas, to be able to go to school and not have their education interrupted.
Ông Mai Văn Hoàng, Tổng Giám đốc Công ty GrowMax chia sẻ những tâm huyết về Quỹ khuyến học GrowMax.
Therefore, he personally had the idea and discussed it with the Board of Directors of GrowMax Aquafeed Co., Ltd. and all company staff. They unanimously agreed to reduce a portion of their 2022 salaries/bonuses to share with children in particularly difficult circumstances, especially in coastal areas, creating conditions for them to overcome hardships and excel in their studies…
“Learning will be the opportunity for them to escape poverty, become good citizens, and be useful to their families, society, and the Fatherland. With that noble meaning, even though the company has only been established for nearly 2 years and itself still faces countless difficulties, GrowMax has decided to allocate an advance of 8 billion VND to establish the GrowMax Scholarship Fund to deliver to students across coastal provinces/cities, supporting them to continue their journey in search of knowledge. This is also GrowMax’s way of passing the torch, hoping to always be a bridge for the future of many young generations,” said Mr. Mai Van Hoang.

At the launch ceremony for the GrowMax Scholarship Fund, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, expressed his appreciation for the sentiments of the Leadership Board and all employees of GrowMax Aquafeed Co., Ltd., who have always accompanied and cared for poor, studious students in coastal areas. Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh also hoped that Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper would deliver these gifts directly to the poor, studious children to further fuel their dreams of going to school and becoming useful citizens for society.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper, affirmed that the newspaper will closely coordinate with GrowMax Aquafeed Co., Ltd. to organize, implement, and execute the scholarship activities of the GrowMax Fund in the best, most timely, and most effective manner, joining hands to share difficulties and provide better conditions for poor, studious students to attend school.
