In Go Cong Dong district, the GrowMax Scholarship Fund went to Phuoc Trung commune, a locality that used to be a coastal commune, bordering the Cua Tieu River, to award scholarships to students of Phuoc Trung Primary School.

Currently, the lives of local people have changed a lot, but there are still some difficulties. Mr. Dao Van Cong, the school’s principal, said that last year, Phuoc Trung Primary School still faced many difficulties in terms of facilities, teaching and learning conditions, and teaching staff. The gifts from the GrowMax Scholarship Fund have timely shared the difficulties with the school and students’ families during this new school year.

According to Mr. Dao Van Cong, the students who received scholarships from the program all have extremely difficult circumstances. Like Vay Thi Kim Ngoc, a student in class 5/1, whose parents have left her, she lives with her old and poor grandmother, and has no means. Or like Le Ngoc Gia Han, a student in class 5/1, her parents abandoned her when she was only 6 months old, leaving her with her grandmother, but her family is very poor, her grandmother sells lottery tickets every day to raise her. The rest of the children come from poor families, with no fields or gardens, and their parents work as hired laborers with unstable jobs and incomes.
